Invisible temple-Sangameshwara, divine wonder

Why it is called Sangameshwara temple?

As per legend, while in exile, Pandavas arrived at kurnool district of Karnataka, and after visiting Srisailam Mallikarjuna Temple, they decided to build the Shiva temple at Kurnool and so, Dharmaraj Yudhishtira told his brother Bhima to bring a Shiva Linga from Kashi.

Later, they consecrated the Linga at the confluence of the river Krishna and Tungabhadra along with other five tributaries. Hence, the Linga was named as Sangameshwara (Sangama, where the rivers meet).

However, this age-old architecture is under threat because of the water, and need proper protection and care by the Government, else the temple will be finally submerged into the depth of water,
